Imagine a rotunda with marble floors and tall columns, and along the walls are tables laden with chocolates, cupcakes, pastries, cookies, layer cakes, brownies, cake pops, and other delectable treats. In another room, experts from Total Wine and More offer tastings of top shelf champagne, pinot noir, and port, and in a cozy nook, staff from Kendall’s Cakes help children … of all ages … decorate frosted sugar cookies. SPAGnVOLA Chocolatier delights with their premium chocolate imported from the Dominican Republic. A tall confection of stained glass and flowers impresses at the Maggie Austin Cake table. There is a happy buzz as 300 donors, friends, and children break their New Year’s Resolutions and indulge their sweet tooth at the inaugural Decadent Delights.
To our many wonderful sponsors, all of whom are listed here, we give heartfelt thanks for their outstanding generosity which enabled Neediest Kids to raise more than $143,000 to provide low-income children with the basic necessities they urgently need. We also thank the many volunteers who made this event such an extraordinary success, including co-chairs Julie Raffensperger and Joan Vassos, and cake guru Cathy Janus.
